Ooooh, I have pictures. Although the project featured is not mine. It's Robin's! She's been busy. She had some extra triangles she wanted to use up, and we took a trip up to our favorite large fabric store to find some batik fabric. Here's her result. I think she did a great job. It's just haning on a design sheet right now, not sewn yet.
Me, what have I been doing? Um, working mostly. I did manage to get up to Quilter's Gallery again and purchased some more batiks and a book.
I haven't had a chance to try anything in this book yet, but the idea sounds pretty cool to me. I checked out another book from the library, entitled Machine Quilting With Decorative Threads by Maurine Noble and Elizabeth Hendricks. I checked this one out before I purchased the book above. After practicing some free-motion quilting, I am thinking that although I like the look decorative threads give quilts, I'd much rather stick with using non-decorative threads on the quilts, except for variegated cotton ones. I'm just no good right now with all those layers of fabric. But, maybe if I try decorating the fabric before putting the quilt together . . . well maybe I'll be happier with the look. We'll have to wait and see. I have projects in mind.
Now, if I can only find the time. . .
Happy fibering all!
