Not Knitting, Not Spinning, But . . . Quilting?!

That's right, I spent a weekend learning how to foundation piece blocks for a quilting project I have in mind. Last weekend was a wonderful 3-day weekend. I spent it at my sewing machine working on learning how to make some cute ladybugs and flowers from Mary Jo Hiney's book Beautiful Foundation-Pieced Quilt Blocks. Check out my small blocks below. The flowers didn't come out so well, but I think I know what I did wrong and fixed that in the ladybugs.

I was also learning how to machine quilt, but the stitches don't show up so well and so I won't show a picture of that. I had a great weekend, and didn't get too frustrated either. I'm still knitting and spinning, just needed a break with that.

I'm working on a wonderful blankie in blue and ombre, little mitered squares. I love it so far. I'll take a picture soon.
Happy fibering, whatever you are doing!
