Mid-move Update

Well, it's mid-move for my spouse and I. We're at the new place and unpacking.

Before we moved down to SC, Robin pointed out to my spouse that I could have a whole fiber/craft room (i.e. the third bedroom). My husband, needless to say, wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of me having a whole room. Especially since this is a temporary rental place, and he was worried I would grow to fill said room. I had a closet before, so a room, well. . . think of all the things you can put in there. I think he would also miss me in the office, so for now, my sewing machines reside in the office with him. That's good since my newest sewing machine and my computer are two things I use together. And, a bonus is that I get to be near him too.

My craft room will hold my fiber, wood working supplies, and other miscellaneous supplies for now. It's also the guest room and my parents, who are visiting right now, love having space to put their luggage and a queen sized air bed. The office used to also double as the guest room and was pretty tight, so we're pretty happy with this third bedroom too.

No new fiber oriented stuff, except if you live in NC or SC and you have never been to the following stores, Robin and I really enjoyed them.
  1. Quilter's Gallery -- Charlotte, NC. This store is moving, but they have lovely patterns, classes, kits, and help. The staff were very helpful too. Robin is taking a class this August and I'm eyeing one, but I have too much on my schedule this fall.
  2. Mary Jo's Cloth Store -- Gastonia, NC. This is the ultimate fabric store, containing the widest selection of fabrics we (mother, Robin, and I) have ever seen, and together we have seen some large fabric stores.
Okay, that's it from me. I'll try to post real content soon, such as knitting or spinning content, but I'm a bit busy with other things right now.

Happy fibering!

Off line for a bit

Well, we got the blog moved and then chaos occurred. We are deep in boxes at my house. Robin is off on a trip, so no one to blog right now. We'll take a break. I may get to post before we dismantle the computer desks this weekend, but highly unlikely. I'm back on-line after July 26th, so stop by then.

I have high priorities in this move. My crafts are taken with us, like the spinning wheel, the knitting needles, my sewing machine, etc. But, not much fiber, fabric, or yarn. That is packed up and will be shipped. Unless I can sneak some into the car this weekend. Hmmm, maybe . . .

Until late July, keep fibering!

Moving Time

I haven't posted lately because life is a bit complicated. I have lots of packing to do still to physically move our house down south. And now, I am moving the blog virtually to a new address: http://www.clickingneedles.anndan.net, which is currently under construction. Please visit us there in about a day or so. This current blog address will no longer exist in about two weeks I believe.

Thanks and happy fibering!
